I’m sure you’ve probably heard this song because its pretty popular. The Airborne Toxic Event hit it big time, and deservedly so. This song in particular hits me pretty hard after going through a rough break up. If you want to feel depressed for a while after something like that happens, listen to this song. If you want to make your ex feel terrible, play them this song. If you just want some awesome rock, this is the right song. So whatever you want, play this song.

NOAH AND THE WHALE - BLUE SKIES

I heard this song on Pandora the other day, and while I had known about Noah and the Whale before, I had never heard this song. Noah and the Whale are awesome and don’t disappoint with this one.

KINGS OF LEON - KING OF THE RODEO

This is one of the most interesting bands I’ve known. I was lucky enough to catch a documentary about them on TV and they truly are an interesting band. They have a great sound and a cool background. If you ever get a chance, watch their documentary, you’ll probably come away liking them even more.

JUKEBOX THE GHOST - HOLD IT IN

Such a fun band. If you like this song then you should definitely check out their other stuff because its all just upbeat happiness. If you can see them live sometime, do it. They put on a really entertaining show. Maybe not the most rocking show or most energetic, but certainly a very entertaining one. So please, be my guest, listen to them more than once.

FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS - MONEYGRABBER

They say they have a motown influence, but wan’t to sound different and create their own style. I think they managed to do just that. This song in particular shows off their motown roots while keeping it new and having their own sound. They don’t use guitars in their songs because they say that it isn’t original. That everyone uses guitars and they’re sick of hearing them in music. While I might not agree with them on that front, I do like the unique sound that comes from it. Hopefully you do too.

BOSTON - PEACE OF MIND

If you don’t like Boston then I refuse to talk to you. Boston could very well take the cake for the greatest rock band in the history of the universe. Tom Scholz is, quite simply, a genius. To make this whole band and write all of the music for it is just amazing. They never made a bad song or a bad album, just pure excellence all the way through. Not to mention the fact that Brad Delp had one of the most talented voices in all of rock and roll. Most bands get by with a so-so singer, but Boston pulled out the big guns and found this guy. Unfortunately, he decided to leave the band and sadly committed suicide in 2007. It sure is a good thing that music sticks around after the members go because I don’t know what I would do without Boston.

MUTEMATH - BLOOD PRESSURE

MUTEMATH is such an awesome band, it almost doesn’t need an explanation, but guess what, I’m gonna give one anyway. I once had the pleasure of seeing these guys live, and while it was a big show at Lollapalooza, they still captured the coveted “My Favorite Performance at Lollapalooza” award. They have so much energy it’s ridiculous. Hopefully I can get tickets to see them at the House of Blues to experience them in a smaller venue. I don’t know what else to say about these guys…they’re just flatout awesome.

FOXY SHAZAM - OH LORD

LISTEN TO THEM! DO IT RIGHT THIS MOMENT!

Then go out and buy their first couple albums: Flamingo Trigger, Introducing & Foxy Shazam. Then wait another couple weeks and buy their new album: The Church of Rock and Roll. If you don’t do this, Eric Nally (their lead singer who must be some kind of descendent of Freddy Mercury) will come and beat the crap out of you.

Alright, he probably wouldn’t beat the crap out of you because he’s cooler than that, but still, go buy stuff from them!
